(1) Personnel Management Policy
Merit-based system, principle of the right
man for the right job, and principle of
fair dispensation of rewards and penalties
are the three backbones of Dongbu to secure
a fair personnel management system and rational
performance review and reward :
- Dongbu implements a merit-based system
that is operated under the principle of
placing the right person in the right position
and dispensing fair rewards and penalties.
In a merit-based system, no aspect of personnel
management including recruitment, promotion
and wages is influenced by factors unrelated
to the individual's capabilities. Such unrelated
factors include blood-ties and ties to specific
regions and educational institutions.
The aim of placing the right person in
the right position is to maximize efficiency
by matching skills with the jobs that require
them.
In dispensing fair rewards and penalties,
employees deserving praise will be encouraged
with rewards, while those who have done
wrong for personal gain will be dealt with
appropriately.
- Dongbu's personnel evaluations are divided
into three categories: First is the evaluation
of an individual employee's capabilities
with regards to carrying one's duties and
contributing to the betterment of the organization.
Second is the evaluation of the individual's
and his/her level of achievement. Third
is a composite assessment of the employee's
level of professional knowledge, additional
skills and educational qualifications as
well as his/her performance in the role
to which they are assigned.
Employees are remunerated according to
the company's personnel management principles,
which extend preferential treatment to hard
working individuals with high performance
records.
